  We would love to share some of the best stories families have shared with us.

My great grandfather Dan Carlis and two uncles Sylvester Carlis and Ludie Clements were participants in the Tuskegee Syphilis Study which spaned three generations. They along with all the participants, wives and descendants are all heroes. I have been asked how can I not hate the people that did this to my relatives. My answer is that the love of God will remove all hatred from my heart and replace it with love. Hatred and the the inability to forgive those who has wronged you has a tendency to bring you down and destroy you. Forgiveness on my part is the first step in the healing process for me.
